Jason’ll be a good big brother.

So far, Jason seems to be reacting as well as one can expect an ordinarily happy three-year-old to react to the fact that he’s going to be a big brother in two and a half months. Since James’ clothes are now being stored in the bottom two drawers of his dresser, Jason hasn’t asked about them or become any more curious about the items that weren’t his suddenly appearing in his bedroom. This doesn’t go to say that James is going to be rooming with Jason from the start, because I intend on breastfeeding James and would like him to sleep in my room until he’s old enough to share a room with his big brother without causing a problem for either child. That, and I feel that it would be horrible to put a newborn in Jason’s room and wake him up all of the time… he doesn’t have to go through that. It’s not his place to.

It is his place, however, to wear this cute little big brother shirt that I got him.

It’s also his place be the best big brother ever, which I have absolutely no doubt in. James already responds very well to Jason’s voice, even more so than Matt’s voice and my own voice. He probably suspects a kindred spirit. That, and James likes his uncle Paul’s voice!
