Jason’s maternal grandmother has always been interested in things like horses and horse racing. Seeing as how my son seems to take after her in more than just appearance, there’s always the possibility that Jason could develop the same earnest interest in horses that she has. Since he spends a lot of time with my parents while I’m at school, he’s gotten close to both of them… especially my mother. Once Jason gets older, I would seriously give him a horse racing form guide if he let me know that he was interested in it. Getting him into horse racing as he hits adolescence would be a good way to teach him about horses and probability, and it’s a lot more educational of a hobby than some of the other things that today’s teenagers like to do.

It might also help for me to learn some about horse racing odds comparison too. As it is, I used to like to play betting games on the various gaming consoles as a child, and they always interested me tremendously. The more I know about this, the more I can potentially steer my son in the right direction when it comes to all things horse racing.

This would also give me something interesting to get into as my pregnancy continues!
