While I have the chance, here…
Saturday, November 7, 2009 14:20Well, I’m making considerable headway in my Composition II project. We have to write a persuasive research paper about any topic of our choosing, provided that it’s not too much of a controversy. I decided to write about how video games can positively affect the cognitive and physical development of children when parental supervision is exercised, limits are placed and games are carefully chosen. I’ve gotten a few books for this assignment that are really helping me out, allowing me to cite valuable sources in my paper. Although we don’t actually have to write the paper yet, we have to have some of our notes organized to bring to class next Tuesday so our professor can take a look at our progress. Being pregnant, I decided to get my revised proposal, working bibliography, notes and print-outs all done as soon as I was able to. I seized the first opportunity that I had where I wasn’t going to the bathroom and did it.
Apparently, my professor has seen his fair share of papers writing about the horrible abominations that video games are to kids. Sure, if you hand your seven-year-old son a Grand Theft Auto game and let them play it until the sun comes up the next morning… yes, I’m pretty sure you’re going to have problems. But if you let your little one play something like Yoshi’s Island with you, you’re not going to have very many problems…
