Some guy that liked me just got told, although not only kindly and maturely but honestly, that I was not willing to put getting my education on hold just because it would have been more convenient for his life’s plans. Furthermore, I told him that I wasn’t one of those types of women who could settle for being someone’s subservient “wifey”, as they’re sometimes called around where I live. He didn’t seem to take it that well, as it seemed that he had invested feelings into me, but I told him that it was better that I told him this now when we got to discussing it rather than have it hurt him on down the line when I would refuse to give up on getting my education just to be shipped around in the Navy.
