Sure, wedding dresses may look nice on most people…

However, you’ll never catch me wearing one. And it’s not even a matter of me disliking the idea of matrimony, although my views on it and what it constitutes may differ from some of yours — I see marriage as more of a civil agreement, not something sacramental or spiritual. For me, it all boils down to never having been comfortable in dresses or skirts. I’m not going to wear something that I don’t feel comfortable in, especially when I’m having to wear it in what could wind up being a lot of people. And if taking it off when I’m done with it causes just as many problems as maneuvering around in it while I’ve got it on, well… I’m sure most of you can already tell where this is going.
I would trip in this!
Another thing is the color white. I don’t dislike the color, and I certainly think it has its places… but I don’t enjoy actually wearing a lot of white. It’s just something I don’t like. I’m also against the idea of wearing something just one time and then never being able to wear it again, so whatever I wound up getting married in for the sake of this scenario would have to be something that I could wear when the actual proceedings were done.
Growing up, I was never the girl who dreamed about being walked down the aisle in a white wedding dress. And the reason this conversation even… came up when it did was because I noticed people pinning stuff related to their dream weddings to Pinterest. And although I have an account on the site myself, I’ve never pinned anything related to that.
But like I said in the subject line, they do look pretty on other people! Just… not me.
