Little man can’t have carrots…
Sunday, January 30, 2011 11:57I’m sure that most of you know this by now, but I began to feed solids to James when he was six months old. I fed him the starter foods that consisted mainly of pureed (insert food here) mixed with water, and all of them passed the test of being digested by his stomach… except for one. That one was carrots. Ironically enough, he seemed to tolerate them well the very first time he was fed them, but things have gone downhill from there — carrots now cause his bum to become chapped and red, and they appear to irritate his digestive tract. Because this has happened twice now, I have since removed all traces of them from his diet pending a talk with a nutritionist or his pediatrician. Or probably both of them.
Every single other food that I’ve fed him has gone over swimmingly well, though! Even beef and chicken, which Jason never liked growing up. As a matter of fact, to this day Jason is somewhat choosy over the meats that he’ll accept and so I usually wind up cutting a hot dog into extremely small pieces to let him dip into ketchup and mustard as he’s so inclined. As a child, the only problem that I had with food was the milk products that to this day give me problems if I consume too much of them in too short of a time span… so aside from that, I’ve got nothing. I think I’m the only one in his family with a food problem.
