However, the second one has proven to be substantially lighter than the first! I’m not chalking this most recent one up to the spotting that I was told to expect after the IUD’s successful insertion only because the spotting happened to coincide with my first postpartum menstrual period. After that stopped, I didn’t bleed up until a few days ago. In my spare time, I’ve been doing some research on the Internet regarding what to expect in terms of the irregular periods that come with having the Mirena, as I’m still excited to have it. The momentary discomfort was worth having something put in my body that would lighten and eventually stop my periods, especially because I would like to continue to breastfeed my son for as long as he’s willing to have it.

Walking into this, I had originally expected “irregular” to mean “the eventual cessation of menstruation for as long as I had it” — periods would simply get further and further apart until they stopped coming altogether, or so I suspected. With that said, it does come as a bit of a surprise to see things go in the other direction… but as long as that’s a normal side effect, I can deal with it. It’s not going to hurt for me to ask my obstetrician at the end of the month when he checks to make sure that everything’s still in its rightful place, because I’d like to keep it in for the full five years. It’s one less thing I have to remember!

I’ve also noticed that most of the residual cramping has gone away, all except for one area on my right side. I’m not sure what it is about me, but my right side seems to be far more sensitive than my left in that regard. But I’m not too worried, because Ibuprofen helps! :P

My bedroom is almost barren. http://mumsy.little-miss.org/?p=13055 http://mumsy.little-miss.org/?p=13055#comments Tue, 07 Sep 2010 22:53:30 +0000 Dani http://mumsy.little-miss.org/?p=13055 Admittedly, I haven’t done much with my bedroom since my oldest son was born. Aside from the almost obligate Twilight calendar hanging on my wall beside my bed and the poster on the door, there’s not much about my bedroom that screams “me”. But now that I have the freedom to do as I please with it, I’ve been looking at some designer bedroom sets in my spare time. I’ve never been the best in the world at putting together a room intended for an adult to sleep in, although I would consider myself pretty spectacular at putting together bedrooms for children. The room that my three-year-old sleeps in can testify to that, as it’s recently become a nice cross between baseball and Spongebob.

Hopefully I can find some Hello Kitty decorations to liven my room up. I’ve always been a fan of cute and girly things, so finding some Sanrio collectibles would be great! I might also throw in some Jacob Black or Jasper Hale posters and paraphernalia in for good measure, as I prefer those men to the reclusive and staunch Edward Cullen. As for everything else, though… that’s still up in the air. I’ll have to decide what else to add to it later, I guess.

I will be myself in a few days. http://mumsy.little-miss.org/?p=13039 http://mumsy.little-miss.org/?p=13039#comments Tue, 07 Sep 2010 12:07:27 +0000 Dani http://mumsy.little-miss.org/?p=13039 To sum things up, I seem to have come down with a bug on Friday. I’m not sure what it is or what could have caused it aside from the fact that I’ve found myself becoming nauseated at things that normally didn’t make me nauseated. Right now, I’m chalking it up to being a stomach bug of some sort and am just watching what I eat from this point forward — staying away from things like eggs what with everything that has been on the news about them, of course. Fortunately, I’ve been able to keep down my DHA and prenatal vitamins without a problem and my milk supply hasn’t changed because of this.

Right now, I am feeling better. However, it’s not “better” enough for me to declare myself completely back to normal if that makes sense to any of you. :P Luckily for me, I have only two classes to deal with this semester and I seem to have gotten excellent professors — I’m not worried about falling behind in any of my courses because of things like this. As it is, the majority of my homework for my Statistics class is done online and this class isn’t quite as mind-numbingly difficult as Intermediate Algebra was. I am not good at Algebra…

Yes, I do read those things… http://mumsy.little-miss.org/?p=13017 http://mumsy.little-miss.org/?p=13017#comments Mon, 06 Sep 2010 12:48:31 +0000 Dani http://mumsy.little-miss.org/?p=13017 In combing through my access logs as I frequently make it a habit to do, I noticed that I’ve begun to get a few… suspect hits to both of my blogs. Under these circumstances, I’m tipped off to these by the fact that they originated from my domain rather than landing on each of my individual blogs. When someone drops their EntreCard on either one of my blog, it’s seen as a direct hit to that blog. At any rate, my Feedjit has made it pretty clear where these hits would be coming from. Someone that knows me in person seems to have found my domain, because I can only think of a handful of hits that would originate from my boyfriend’s city — and by handful, I only mean one. The fact that a hit from Australia came right after several of those hits to my blog only clinched it for me, so like I said… I think I know who stumbled across my blogs. It’s probably his mother and one of his aunts.

If this is the case, I’m not sure whether or not I should feel flattered or offended. I’ve made it difficult enough for people who have friended me on any given social networking site to find either one of my blogs, let alone my entire site. However, Matt knows about the existence of both of the blogs — I even offered to give him the addresses once and asked him if he’d like to read them, to which he responded that he didn’t. Not because he didn’t want to read them, more that he just didn’t make it a habit to read blogs that often. I’ve told him about what I’ve written whenever it has to do with him or his family, though. He’s encouraged me to vent as needed on both of my blogs about my frustration with his family, as has he made the occasional light-hearted comment after we’ve attended church together to the tune of, “Well, now you have something to blog about!” I wouldn’t have made it through the five or six Sundays that I went to church with them if it weren’t for being able to come back to this blog and say something about it, though. Admittedly, my only reason for being so chipper about attending was because I wanted Matt to be able to spend the day with his son and figured that I could just “suck it up” for an hour.

All in all, I have absolutely nothing to hide and actually commend those who actually found my blogs. As much as certain individuals might not like some of my subject matter, I’d lying if I didn’t vouch for my own subject matter on the merits that I write… well, how I feel. :P

Jason, you’re such a cutie pie. http://mumsy.little-miss.org/?p=13009 http://mumsy.little-miss.org/?p=13009#comments Sun, 05 Sep 2010 04:10:19 +0000 Dani http://mumsy.little-miss.org/?p=13009

I happened to snap this picture of Jason with my cell phone at just the right time, and I couldn’t resist myself. While I was in the process of taking it, he was looking over to the right because that’s where my cell phone’s camera is stationed at — he was also leaning on the couch in front of him beside where I was sitting to look at it, if that makes sense.

He also fed his baby brother a bottle for the first time, too! Jason randomly came up to me as I was burping James, picked up the bottle that I’d put down beside me and proceeded to begin to feed James as soon as I was done burping him. All he could exclaim was, “Baby brother’s drinking his milkies!” while he was feeding him. It was so adorable. I didn’t even tell him to do it, either! He just picked up the bottle and started on his own.
